Uttar Pradesh Swelters: Temperatures Soar Past 48°C!

Uttar Pradesh continues to battle severe heatwave conditions, with Tuesday seeing temperatures cross the 40 degrees Celsius mark in 22 out of 75 districts. Banda was the hottest location, registering a maximum of 48.2 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department has forecast severe heatwave conditions for southern Uttar Pradesh and warm nights in western parts.

In light of the intense heat, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has initiated a high alert within the health department. He has mandated that all hospitals and health centers prepare to treat heatstroke and heat-related patients, ensuring adequate beds, medicines, and essential facilities like water and cooling systems. Coordination with private and central government medical institutions has also been directed to manage any emergencies effectively. The health department advises residents to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours and stay hydrated.
