UK Braces for Surprise Snowfall This Weekend!
10 Apr
Summary
- Snow is predicted for several UK cities this weekend.
- Temperatures will drop significantly from earlier highs.
- Accumulations expected to be minimal, except in Scotland.

Brits could experience unexpected snowfall this weekend as advanced weather modelling suggests a significant shift in conditions. Initial forecasts show a weather front arriving from the Atlantic early Saturday, bringing rain to Wales and the south-west, with snow expected in Scotland and possibly further south as the morning progresses.
By Saturday morning, maps indicate snow across large parts of Wales, north-west England, and Scotland, with potential flurries reaching the south-west. By 9 am, snow is also projected for the Midlands and north-east England, affecting at least 12 major cities. Snow coverage maps suggest most of Scotland, northern England, and Wales could see light accumulations, generally under 1cm, excluding higher ground in Scotland.
The Met Office forecasts temperatures to reach a maximum of 15C in southern areas, a stark contrast to the 26C heat experienced earlier in the week. Saturday's forecast includes rain in central and western areas clearing eastwards, followed by showers, particularly in Northern Ireland and western Scotland, with windy conditions and coastal gales in the west.
Looking ahead, Sunday is expected to be breezy with sunny spells and showers, most frequent in the north and west, with a risk of thunder. Monday will see easing winds but a mix of sunshine and showers, mainly in the north. Tuesday is predicted to be mostly dry until rain reaches Northern Ireland by evening.
