UK Weather Alert: Rain and Cooler Temps Ahead
2 Aug
Summary
- Sunny spells are forecast for the weekend with showers in Scotland.
- Heavy rain and showers are expected across the UK from Monday.
- Rural temperatures may drop to low single figures overnight.
The upcoming weekend in the UK is predicted to feature sunny spells. However, Scotland can expect showers on Saturday, which are forecast to diminish by Sunday.
Starting Monday, an area of low pressure is set to extend across the nation from the southwest. This system is expected to bring a period of potentially heavy rain to parts of the north.
Showers are also anticipated in the southern regions, though some areas may experience only minimal rainfall. Temperatures are anticipated to be lower than the previous night, leading to cooler conditions away from the southeast, with rural temperatures potentially reaching low single figures.
Later in the week, Sunday's forecast suggests a few showers in Scotland, with otherwise fine and dry conditions accompanied by hazy sunshine in the south. Some areas may become very warm, with cloud expected to thicken in the west later.
