Brits Warned: Thunderstorms Threaten Travel Chaos

The Met Office has issued warnings across Britain regarding approaching thunderstorms, predicting potential disruptions to transport services. Commuters and travelers should anticipate delays and possible cancellations affecting both train and bus services. These disruptions are primarily linked to instances of flooding and lightning strikes.

Furthermore, road travel is expected to be challenging. The agency forecasts that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions, potentially resulting in some road closures. Individuals caught outdoors during thunderstorms are advised to seek immediate and safe enclosed shelter, such as a vehicle, and avoid seeking refuge under or near trees, which pose a significant lightning strike risk.
