Following a week of glorious sunshine and soaring temperatures across much of the UK, a significant change in weather is on the horizon. From Friday, March 1, approximately 11 areas are set to experience heavy downpours. North Wales can expect around 0.5mm to 2mm of rain, while parts of Scotland, including Argyll and Bute and Southwest Scotland, will also see light to moderate rainfall.
By Saturday, May 2, the rain is predicted to intensify. The Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber regions are likely to be hit hard, with an anticipated 4-8mm of rainfall during the early hours. Other areas like Worcestershire and Somerset will see between 0.5mm to 2mm, with Worcestershire expecting up to 8mm in the worst-hit spots by 10pm on Friday, May 1. Berkshire will also experience rain. The Met Office's outlook for Wednesday, April 29, to Friday, May 1, describes Wednesday and Thursday as largely dry with warm sunny spells. However, an increasing chance of showers is expected to move in from the west by Friday.
