UK Braces for Snow: Wintry Blast Arrives by Wednesday!
14 Feb
Summary
- Met Office has issued snow warnings for 27 UK areas.
- Accumulations could reach several millimeters, especially higher grounds.
- Icy conditions and reduced visibility are expected from Sunday.

The Met Office has forecast widespread snow across 27 areas of the UK, with wintry conditions expected to arrive before Wednesday, February 18. Freezing temperatures are currently affecting much of the nation, and these conditions are predicted to worsen. Snowfall could accumulate to several millimeters, with higher ground areas being particularly susceptible to heavier deposits.
From Sunday, February 15, the UK is set to experience widespread icy conditions and potentially hazardous driving due to reduced visibility. While much of the country will see less than 0.5mm/hour of snow, specific locations like south of Whitby in North Yorkshire and the Scottish Highlands could receive between 0.5 and 4mm/hour. The Met Office's five-day forecast, updated on Saturday, indicates sunshine preceding periods of rain and snow, with England, Scotland, and Wales all anticipated to experience some snowfall over the next three days.
