Snowfall is anticipated to impact the UK on February 8, according to the latest weather maps. Regions including the north of Scotland, England, and the Midlands are likely to experience snow cover. Scotland could see substantial accumulations of up to 1 meter (39 inches), while other areas might receive between 2 to 6cm.
This cold snap will coincide with significant temperature drops. Parts of Scotland may face extreme lows of -12C. Conversely, most of England is expected to remain a few degrees above zero, though some eastern areas could dip slightly below freezing.
Additionally, a wall of snow originating from the Atlantic is predicted to reach the UK before February. Forecast maps from WXCHARTS suggest patches of snow could appear as early as Tuesday, January 27. Areas like north Wales, Northern Ireland, and parts of Scotland might see up to 55cm of snow, with specific English locations such as Cumbria, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Blackpool, and Yorkshire also in the snow path.
Meanwhile, a yellow rain warning has been issued by the Met Office for South West England and Wales. This warning is active from Friday morning until Saturday evening and is expected to bring substantial rainfall, potentially causing flooding and transport disruptions.
