Major UK cities, including London and Manchester, are facing the possibility of three consecutive days of snowfall next week. Weather forecasting models indicate snow beginning early Wednesday and persisting until Friday.
Initial forecasts suggest heavy snowfall in Scotland, potentially reaching four inches per hour. By midday Wednesday, snow is expected to reach southern England and Northern Ireland, with accumulations of up to 9cm predicted for Scotland and 6cm for Wales.
Sporadic flurries are anticipated on Thursday, followed by a significant snow band moving across the UK on Friday. Scotland could see up to 12cm, with settled snow possibly reaching as far south as Stoke-on-Trent.
The Met Office has confirmed a chance of snow, noting a cooler and more unstable weather pattern developing. While rain is expected in the north and west early in the week, wintry showers are forecast for higher ground by Wednesday, with snow possibly reaching lower levels in the north.
