10 Mar
Summary
- Snowfall is expected in areas as low as 200 metres.
- Temperatures could feel as cold as -7C due to strong winds.
- Twenty-one flood warnings are already in place across the Southwest.

A significant change in weather is forecast for the UK, with snow expected to reach elevations as low as 200 metres by Friday. This follows a period of much warmer weather, with temperatures last week peaking at 19C. Meteorologists predict a considerable drop in temperature, making it feel as cold as -7C due to strong winds, with patchy frost and a risk of ice also anticipated.
Frequent showers are expected, particularly in northwestern areas, with some falling as snow mixed with hail. This unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue through the weekend. Heavy rain has already impacted parts of Northeast England and Wales on Thursday. Ahead of this period, 21 flood warnings have been issued, predominantly for waterways in Southwest England.
