As of 2025-08-21T06:28:35+00:00, the UK is set to experience a scorching August bank holiday weekend, with temperatures expected to soar to 32°C in some regions. According to the latest Met Office forecast, by 6pm on Monday, August 26th, temperatures will reach a sweltering 30°C in Gloucester, while cooler conditions will prevail in Cumbria, Newcastle, and Scotland.
The rest of the country will see a mixed bag of weather, with Wales experiencing temperatures between 20°C and 29°C, Cornwall around 24°C, and Northern Ireland a relatively mild 20°C to 22°C. However, there is still a small chance that western or southwestern parts of the UK could see some cloudier skies and a few showers.
As the week progresses, the Met Office predicts that the skies may become generally cloudier, with an increasing chance of rain and showers, initially across the southwestern half of the UK and possibly spreading further north and east at times. Winds are also expected to be breezy, especially around exposed coasts and some hills, though temperatures are likely to remain around normal, or perhaps a little above in areas where sunnier spells persist with lighter winds.
