UK Heatwave Alert: Record June Temperatures Incoming!

The UK is set for a substantial heat blast, with forecasts indicating temperatures well above average for June. Southern and eastern England are expected to experience the most intense heat, with some areas potentially reaching between 31C and 34C.

Wales is also anticipating warm weather, with temperatures likely to range from 25C to 28C. In contrast, Scotland and Northern Ireland are predicted to remain cooler, with highs generally in the low to mid-20s.

The Met Office has confirmed an increased chance of warmer-than-average conditions persisting through June, July, and August. This outlook suggests a heightened probability of heatwaves and associated impacts during the summer months.

The agency also noted that both the UK and mainland Europe could experience significant heatwaves. This trend towards hotter summers is becoming more frequent, with current conditions around twice as likely compared to previous decades due to climate change.
