A significant heatwave is anticipated to impact the UK, with its peak expected to begin at the end of July and persist for four days. Initially, southern regions are predicted to experience the warmest weather on Friday, July 31. If temperatures indeed climb to these predicted levels, heat and health warnings are likely to be issued.
As August commences, London is forecast to reach a scorching 33°C on August 1. The highest temperatures, predicted to be 34°C, are expected in Suffolk and Norfolk, while many areas in the Midlands will see highs around 31°C. The South West will remain cooler at approximately 27°C.
Looking ahead, the Met Office forecasts that temperatures will very likely remain above normal through mid-August. This includes the potential for further hot spells, particularly in southern parts of the country. While dry weather is expected for most areas, occasional summertime thunderstorms are also a possibility given the right atmospheric conditions.
