Much of eastern and southeastern England, including East Anglia, Essex, Kent, East and West Sussex, Greater London, and Oxfordshire, can expect temperatures to easily reach 18 or 19 degrees Celsius on both Monday and Tuesday. Scotland's temperatures may struggle to exceed 11 or 12C in cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, though the Highlands might reach 15 or 16C.
April has already seen above-average temperatures. On Wednesday, April 8th, London recorded higher temperatures than Ibiza, Rome, and Marrakech, marking the hottest day in the first half of April since 1946. The Met Office noted a high of 26.6C in Kew Gardens, southwest London.
The weather forecast indicates a changeable start with low pressure systems, but conditions may become drier and more settled later in the period, especially in the north. The south could experience more showers or longer spells of rain. Tonight, many areas will be dry with clear spells, becoming chilly with patchy frost and mist. Tomorrow will start dry for many, but showers will develop widely, carrying a risk of thunder. Wednesday and Thursday will see wet and windy weather moving east, with Thursday becoming drier, brighter, and warmer.
