A severe cold weather front is set to impact the UK from midnight on Tuesday, March 10, bringing with it icy conditions. Parts of Scotland are bracing for temperatures as low as -10C by Wednesday, March 11. The Scottish Highlands are expected to shiver under -3C. Other areas, such as the East of England, Devon, and Cornwall, will likely see temperatures fall to -2C.
This cold spell is anticipated to continue through Wednesday, with forecasters predicting a further drop. The North East and North West of England could also experience temperatures around -10C, while the Midlands face a chilling -8C. The Met Office has indicated that while frontal systems may bring some rain and wind, and possibly snow to high ground in the north, temperatures nationwide will generally be near or above normal, though patchy overnight frost is still likely.
