UK Set for Surprise Indian Summer Blast in September

According to the latest weather forecasts, the UK is in for a surprise Indian summer in mid-September. After a period of torrential downpours and flooding earlier this month, a late summer blast is on the cards as temperatures are predicted to climb back up to the mid-20s Celsius.

The unsettled weather with rain and showers is expected to continue for the first part of the forecast period, from September 15 to September 24. However, there are indications that a trend towards more settled and drier conditions may develop, particularly in the southern parts of the UK. This could allow temperatures to recover to slightly above average levels at times.

The real heat is set to arrive around September 20, with the Midlands and the north coast of Norfolk, as well as Hertfordshire, expected to see temperatures soar up to 25°C. The rest of the home counties and London will also reach highs between 23°C and 24°C. The west of England and Welsh border region will also be warm, while the west coast will be noticeably cooler.

Interestingly, the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse later in the month, with the possibility of snow descending on the UK in just a matter of days. A brutal band of low pressure is moving in from the northwest, and this change in conditions could allow for snow to fall in some areas, such as the Scottish Highlands and other hilly parts.
