As of September 29th, 2025, a weather system that is forecast to become Tropical Storm Imelda is causing disruption in the Bahamas and nearby islands. The system is currently located about 100 miles west-southwest of the Central Bahamas and is moving north-northwest at 7 mph. It is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by late Monday or Tuesday and approach the coast of South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto, a powerful Category 4 storm, has weakened slightly but remains a significant threat to Bermuda. Humberto is located about 585 miles south of Bermuda and is moving west-northwest at 13 mph. Forecasters say a tropical storm watch could be required in Bermuda later in the day, and swells from the hurricane could reach the U.S. East Coast on Monday.
