The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed northern Texas under an "enhanced" risk, indicating a high probability of numerous severe storms, with additional "slight" risk zones extending further east. This volatile weather pattern is attributed to a collision of warm Gulf moisture and cooler air, creating an environment ripe for powerful thunderstorms.
