In a captivating celestial event, parts of the UK were treated to a stunning display of the Northern Lights on the night of November 11, 2025. The vibrant aurora painted the skies in shades of green, pink, and blue, delighting those who were able to witness the natural phenomenon.
The Met Office revealed that an ongoing solar radiation storm had led to a 'Coronal Mass Ejection' reaching Earth, triggering the breathtaking light show. People in elevated and remote areas with little light pollution had the best chance to spot the mesmerizing aurora, which is typically only visible in the auroral oval across Canada, Alaska, Iceland, and the Arctic region.
Fortunately for those who may have missed the spectacle, the Met Office has indicated that there is a good chance the Northern Lights will make another appearance across the UK on the following night, November 12, 2025.
