23 States Scramble as Deep Freeze Grips Nation

Twenty-three states, along with Washington D.C., have officially declared states of emergency due to widespread freezing conditions. This critical situation has led at least 10 of these states to activate their National Guard units to assist with the extreme weather response.

Across the nation, hundreds of 'extreme cold' weather warnings are currently in place, predominantly affecting the southern United States. Additionally, hundreds more winter storm warnings and cold weather advisories have been issued across the central and eastern parts of the country.
