Heatwave Alert: Stay Indoors as Temps Soar Above 44°C

The state government has issued a strong advisory for residents to take necessary precautions due to an ongoing oppressive heatwave, with forecasts predicting temperatures above 44°C in several districts. Citizens are strongly advised to avoid going out between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless there is an emergency, to mitigate the risks associated with extreme heat.

District administrations have been put on alert and instructed to prepare for the heatwave conditions. Key districts like Adilabad, Kumrambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Peddapalli are expected to experience high temperatures. The focus is on ensuring public health and preventing adverse impacts.

Vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and pregnant women, are particularly urged to exercise extreme caution and maintain hydration by consuming sufficient water or ORS. The administration is also tasked with ensuring continuous power and water supply, and keeping medical services, ambulances, and fire tenders ready. Awareness campaigns on preventing sunstroke will be intensified, with specific advice for farmers and laborers to take precautions during peak heat.
