High temperatures will consistently reach the low 90s, but with high humidity, heat indices will feel like triple digits, posing a moderate to major risk for heat-related illnesses. This beneficial rain is anticipated to help alleviate the extreme drought conditions plaguing Broward and Miami-Dade counties, which have seen a significant increase in drought severity.
Boaters currently face no alerts over Atlantic or Keys waters, and rip current risk at the beach is low, though the UV index will be extreme. The unsettled weather pattern with high rain chances is expected to continue into early next week. Meanwhile, in the tropics, the system known as Bertha has dissipated, with no other tropical systems anticipated over the next seven days.
