South Florida is experiencing a prolonged period of intense heat, with the National Weather Service issuing heat advisories for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. These advisories, which are issued when the 'feels-like' temperature is expected to reach 105°F or higher for at least two hours, are expected to continue daily through Sunday. The forecast indicates potential "feels-like" temperatures between 106°F and 108°F, with air temperatures hovering around 90°F.

Residents are advised to take precautions such as staying hydrated, wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and limiting strenuous activities to early mornings or evenings. Awareness of heat exhaustion and heat stroke symptoms, including hot, dry skin, confusion, heavy sweating with clammy skin, and dizziness, is crucial. The Florida Keys have a higher threshold for advisories, requiring a sustained 108°F "feels-like" temperature.

Little relief is expected from rain this week, with only isolated showers possible. Rain chances remain low, generally between 10% and 40% throughout the week, with meteorologists noting that any rainfall will offer minimal respite from the oppressive heat.
