South Africa Braces for Chilly Winter Days Ahead

South Africans can expect continued chilly conditions with cold mornings and cool daytime temperatures persisting throughout much of the country on Wednesday. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) forecasts mostly fine and cool weather, although colder and partly cloudy skies may appear over the western interior later in the week.

Cities like Johannesburg will see a high of only 17°C, while Bloemfontein faces morning temperatures near freezing at 3°C. Warmer days are anticipated in Upington (23°C), Durban (22°C), and East London (22°C). Cape Town is set for mild winter weather around 20°C.

Conditions might become more unsettled from Thursday into Friday. This period could bring partly cloudy and colder weather to the western interior, with a possibility of isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers in some areas.
