25 Dec
Summary
- Southern California roads flooded due to Christmas Eve storm.
- Two motorists rescued from submerged vehicles in Hesperia.
- Atmospheric river causes widespread road closures and crashes.

A severe Christmas Eve storm has caused extensive flooding across Southern California, leaving many roadways submerged and motorists stranded. In Hesperia, rescue crews successfully extracted two individuals from vehicles trapped in fast-moving floodwaters. Fortunately, both were unharmed.
The region is experiencing the impact of a potent atmospheric river, which has inundated areas with heavy rainfall. This has led to numerous road closures, including sections of the 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley and Highway 2 near Wrightwood, which is impassable due to debris.
As of Wednesday morning, multiple SigAlerts were issued for Los Angeles area freeways, and several collisions, including a multi-truck incident, have been reported. Authorities are strongly advising Southland residents to avoid non-essential travel until the storm's intensity subsides.
