Scotland Chills: 2C Temperatures Grip Northeast
5 Oct
Summary
- Northeastern Scotland faces temperatures as low as 2C.
- Other parts of the UK experience milder conditions, between 4-8C.
- Showers are expected, but no snowfall is indicated despite the cold.
As of 2026-10-05T06:23:10+00:00, a distinct change in weather is occurring across the UK, with a fresh air mass bringing notably cooler temperatures. Northeastern Scotland, including areas such as Moray, Aberdeenshire, and parts of Perthshire and Angus, is experiencing temperatures as low as 2C.
In contrast, other regions are seeing milder conditions. Southern areas of the UK are around 7C, while Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland are generally between 5-8C. Northern England is expected to be between 4-6C by midday. Even as the day progresses, these cooler temperatures will only slightly rise, with much of Scotland remaining between 2-4C.
Despite the chilling air, the forecast for Thursday indicates dry and bright conditions for most. While some showers are possible, particularly in Scotland, there is no expectation of snowfall. The Met Office has highlighted these chilling conditions, particularly across eastern and northeastern Scotland.
