Salisbury, Maryland, experienced a tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service on the night of July 21, lasting until midnight. Despite the alert, authorities confirmed on the morning of July 22 that there is no current evidence to suggest a tornado made landfall in the Salisbury vicinity.
However, the threat of severe weather persists. A flood watch remains in effect for all three Lower Shore counties on July 22. This watch is due to excessive rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding. Rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas are at risk of inundation.
This follows a recent confirmed tornado event on the Eastern Shore. An EF0 tornado, with winds between 80 to 85 mph, was confirmed to have formed in Hurlock, Dorchester County, on July 18 around 6:30 p.m. Residents are also advised to prepare for ongoing heat, humidity, and smoke affecting the East Coast.
