3 Jan
Summary
- Dense fog and cold wave conditions are affecting Rajasthan.
- Sirohi recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 7.2 degrees Celsius.
- Active western disturbances are causing the severe weather.

Several parts of Rajasthan are currently experiencing dense fog and a biting cold wave, leading to significant disruptions in normal life. The prevailing weather conditions are attributed to active western disturbances, which have prompted a sharp decline in temperatures across the state.
Sirohi has recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 7.2 degrees Celsius, with other areas like Bikaner and Bharatpur divisions reporting dense fog that reduced visibility to as low as 50 meters. Light rainfall was also observed in parts of southwest Rajasthan, with Nainwa in Bundi district receiving 7 mm.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast an intensification of cold wave conditions starting Saturday, with an expected average temperature drop of around three degrees Celsius across Rajasthan. This will likely prolong foggy mornings and maintain the chill throughout the day.
