According to the National Meteorological Center, North China is currently facing heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the severe weather conditions expected to persist through Friday. The forecast indicates that areas including Hebei and Shandong provinces, as well as Beijing and Tianjin, are likely to experience continued heavy to torrential rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds, and potential hailstorms. Authorities have advised the public to take precautions against flash floods, geological hazards, river flooding, and urban waterlogging.
Furthermore, the center has reported that significant rainfall is predicted for Shaanxi, Shanxi, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as well as parts of Guangdong, Fujian provinces, and regions along the Yangtze River. Some areas may even experience heavy to torrential rain, with extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms.
Compounding the situation, Typhoon Co-may is approaching the eastern coast of China, prompting concerns about its impact and possible secondary disasters. The typhoon is moving northwest and strengthening, with landfall expected on Wednesday in the coastal regions of Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces.
