Summary
- New Jersey faces severe thunderstorms and dangerous heat Friday.
- Heat index values will range from 95 to 105 degrees.
- Humidity relief is expected this weekend with cooler temperatures.

Severe thunderstorms and dangerously hot conditions are expected across New Jersey on Friday, June 13, 2026. The National Weather Service has issued a slight risk of severe storms, with damaging wind gusts being the primary concern. Isolated to scattered storms may develop between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. High temperatures will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values ranging from 95 to 105 degrees, prompting a heat advisory for most of the state through 8 p.m. Friday.
Record high temperatures could be challenged in Trenton, Atlantic City, and Newark on Friday. A significant drop in humidity is expected Friday night as a cold front moves through. This will bring much less humid conditions for Saturday, with temperatures remaining in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Similar temperatures are forecast for Sunday, with a chance of showers late in the day as a second cold front approaches. Conditions are expected to return to more typical mid-June weather from Monday through Wednesday, with highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s.
