10 Mar
Summary
- Severe thunderstorms with 70 mph gusts are possible Wednesday.
- Near-record high temperatures are expected Wednesday before the front.
- Temperatures will drop into the 40s by Thursday afternoon.

New Jersey is bracing for a severe weather event on Wednesday evening, with forecasts indicating scattered thunderstorms capable of producing wind gusts up to 70 mph. This powerful cold front is poised to abruptly conclude the region's recent period of unseasonably warm weather.
Leading up to the storm on Wednesday, residents can expect near-record high temperatures and increasing humidity. Highs are predicted to reach the mid to upper 70s in many areas, though coastal regions will remain cooler due to ocean winds.
Following the passage of the cold front by early Thursday, a sharp temperature drop is expected. Temperatures will descend into the 40s by late Thursday afternoon. Friday is projected to bring a return to more typical mid-March conditions, with normal temperatures for the season.
Looking ahead, Friday may also see winds gusting up to 25 mph. There is a possibility of rain or snow showers on Friday night as another weather system approaches, with drier and calmer conditions anticipated for Saturday.
