NJ Coast Faces Flood Threat This Week

New Jersey faces a looming coastal storm expected to cause multiple rounds of potentially significant tidal flooding. While most computer models suggest the storm will remain offshore, windy conditions are expected across the state. Coastal areas could experience wind advisories, with sustained winds and gusts potentially reaching advisory levels. The Jersey Shore will also face elevated risks of dangerous rip currents and surf conditions throughout the week.
Separately, Tropical Storm Fay has formed in the eastern Atlantic but is not expected to strengthen into a hurricane. This storm is unrelated to the coastal system threatening New Jersey.
