This harsh winter spell is affecting the broader northern and northwest regions of India. The cold wave is attributed to a western disturbance that brought heavy snowfall to the western Himalayan region. Despite a dry winter overall, this weather activity is expected to help reduce the region's rainfall deficit.
Further temperature drops are predicted over the next two to three days. Another western disturbance is anticipated between January 26 and 28, potentially bringing light to moderate rain and thunderstorms to isolated areas of western and northern Rajasthan.
