Marleys' Reggae Cruise Diverts to Mexico as Jamaica Braces for Category 5 Storm

On October 28, 2025, as powerful Hurricane Melissa approaches Jamaica with winds of 175 mph, the organizers of the Marleys' Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise have announced a change in the event's itinerary. The 10th annual cruise, originally scheduled to set sail from Miami on October 27 with stops in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, has now been rerouted to Cozumel, Mexico.

According to the event's Instagram posts, the Fleet Captain has determined that Cozumel is the safest course for the cruise amid the hurricane threat. Many of the scheduled artists and DJs were unable to travel to Jamaica due to the closure of the country's international airports, prompting the organizers to bring on new performers to maintain the music and energy of the celebration.

The five-night cruise, held in partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, will still depart from Miami as planned but will no longer visit the Jamaican ports. The lineup continues to feature Damian and Stephen Marley, as well as the third generation of Marleys, including Yohan, Skip, YG, and Mystic. Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Tarrus Riley, Spice, and Baby Cham are also set to take the stage, marking the 20th anniversary of Damian Marley's Grammy-winning album "Welcome to Jamrock."
