The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for six districts in Maharashtra, warning of significant weather changes. These districts, including Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, and Yavatmal, are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph. Residents in these regions are strongly advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
Further, Sindhudurg, Solapur, and Kolhapur have been placed under a Yellow Alert. This indicates a possibility of scattered rainfall and isolated thunderstorm activity in these areas. The forecast suggests that parts of the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions may witness these weather phenomena throughout the day, emphasizing the need for continued awareness.
