11 Jun
Summary
- Thunderstorm with light rain expected Thursday in Lucknow.
- Maximum temperature on Wednesday reached 41.4 degrees Celsius.
- Gusty winds up to 60 kmph likely with thunderstorms.

Residents of Lucknow can anticipate a shift in weather on Thursday, with forecasts indicating thunderstorms and light rain. This prediction comes after several days of intense heat and humidity, with Wednesday's maximum temperature reaching 41.4 degrees Celsius, significantly above normal.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a thunderstorm warning for Lucknow and surrounding districts. Accompanying the expected thundershowers are gusty winds forecast to reach speeds of 50-60 kmph. These meteorological conditions are attributed to western disturbance activity over Afghanistan and Pakistan, coupled with a cyclonic pressure system over Uttar Pradesh, which are expected to bring much-needed relief.
Elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh, hot conditions persisted on Wednesday, with Banda recording the highest temperature at 45.4 degrees Celsius. The weather office has alerted the entire state to the possibility of rain and thundershowers at a few places, with isolated areas potentially experiencing thundersqualls up to 80 km/h, accompanied by lightning and hailstorms.
