- Yellow weather warning for overnight snow issued by Met Office.

A new live map service has been launched in Lancashire, offering residents an up-to-date view of where the county council's gritters are operating. The 'Lancashire Gritting Live' map displays the current locations of the vehicles and highlights areas treated in the past 18 hours with blue arrows.
This development coincides with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office for overnight snow. The warning is in effect until Friday midday, with the UK bracing for the impact of Storm Goretti. Residents are advised to stay informed about potential disruptions.
Lancashire County Council has enhanced its winter preparedness by adding 10 new gritters to its fleet this year. These vehicles are now responsible for treating 47 priority routes across the county. Notably, some of the new gritters have been given unique names, including Taylor Drift, SnOasis, and Ctrl-Salt-Delete.
