Kanpur is experiencing substantial traffic diversions as the district administration and traffic department implement curbs for the Ganga Mela. These restrictions are in effect from 8 am until the Mela's conclusion on Tuesday at Sarsaiya Ghat. Several roads leading to Sarsaiya Ghat are completely closed to vehicular movement. Traffic from Meghdoot trisection towards Sarsaiya Ghat will be diverted to Bada Chauraha Kotwali crossing. Similarly, vehicles from Green Park heading to the ghat will be rerouted via MG College crossing, passing through Muir Mill trisection and Vyayamshala. Vehicular movement between Chetna crossing and Sarsaiya Ghat is also restricted, with traffic directed towards Bhagwat Das Ghat. To accommodate visitors, parking facilities have been arranged. Visitors coming from Meghdoot trisection can utilize the Phoolbagh underground parking, while those from Chetna crossing can park at GNK College ground. Vehicles from Green Park crossing have options at Green Park or the VIP Road footpath. Media personnel are assigned parking in front of the executive engineer, PWD office. VVIP parking is designated from the women police station to the district jail.
