Summary
- Two ferry sailings between Isle of Man and Lancashire were cancelled due to gales.
- Further sailings remain at risk, impacting passenger travel plans.
- Yellow and amber weather warnings are in effect for ice and large waves.

Ferry crossings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire have been cancelled due to severe gales. The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company confirmed the cancellation of two sailings on Tuesday evening and warned that Wednesday's daytime services were also at risk.
These disruptions coincide with widespread weather warnings for the island. A 24-hour yellow warning for ice is in place until Wednesday afternoon, particularly affecting upland roads. An amber warning for significant wave overtopping is expected between 10:00 and 14:00 on Wednesday, with coastal areas like Douglas Promenade expected to be hit by debris.
Gusts up to 50mph (80km/h) are forecast to impact the island overnight and into Wednesday, further exacerbating travel and coastal conditions.
