- Several cities across Madhya Pradesh experienced minimums above 28°C.

Indore, once celebrated for its cool 'Shab-e-Malwa' nights, is experiencing a dramatic shift as its minimum temperature soared to 30.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, marking the state's highest. This unusual heat is significantly impacting residents, disrupting sleep patterns and consequently affecting daily routines.
The Meteorological Department reported that minimum temperatures in many parts of Madhya Pradesh have exceeded 28 degrees Celsius for the past three days. Cities like Narmadapuram (29.4°C), Bhopal (29.2°C), and Satna (28.6°C) have recorded high night temperatures, contributing to a state-wide discomfort.
Medical professionals highlight that this persistent night heat is exacerbating issues such as sleeplessness, allergies, fatigue, and disordered eating. Dr. Ravi Dosi noted that a considerable percentage of his patients are complaining of poor sleep and heat-related discomfort, impacting their biological clocks and daily energy levels.
Lack of adequate sleep is linked to increased snoring, weight gain, and digestive problems, with some patients waking up to eat unhealthy food. Additionally, allergies are becoming more prevalent, partly due to the increased use of older, dusty air coolers, further contributing to sleep disturbances.
