The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across multiple Indian states on Saturday, October 31. These weather conditions are a result of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Arnab', which has since weakened into a low-pressure area over central Chhattisgarh and nearby Odisha.
The weather system is expected to move north-northeastwards and weaken further. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Chandigarh are among the regions likely to receive showers. Delhi and its surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) can expect rainfall activity, though no heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the area.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh is forecast to experience isolated rainfall, with the wet spell continuing until November 4. West Uttar Pradesh might also see scattered showers. Bihar and Jharkhand are predicted to have isolated rainfall on Saturday, with Bihar expecting continued activity for several days. Odisha may witness scattered rainfall, with heavy showers anticipated on November 1 and 3.
Northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, could receive isolated to scattered rainfall, accompanied by possible thunderstorms and lightning in Assam and Meghalaya. South India, comprising Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, is also expected to experience isolated to scattered rainfall, with Coastal Karnataka seeing rainfall activity from Saturday onwards. Thunderstorms and strong winds are possible in some parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
