Monsoon Advances: India Braces for Storms and Rain

The monsoon is set to intensify its coverage across India, with predictions indicating an advancement into parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar within the coming days, supported by conducive atmospheric patterns.
Meanwhile, Delhi is anticipating a notable change in weather on Thursday, June 11. A western disturbance is expected to bring thunderstorms, dust storms, hailstorms, and gusty winds to the capital and surrounding regions like Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Hailstorms are also a possibility in isolated areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh.
Residents of Delhi can expect a partly cloudy sky turning generally cloudy, with very light to light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, dust storms, and strong winds likely in the evening and night. Temperatures are projected to decrease slightly, with maximums ranging between 40°C and 42°C.
Simultaneously, warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall remain in effect for much of southern and northeastern India. Kerala and Mahe are particularly forecast to experience intense rainfall, with similar conditions expected in Coastal Karnataka. Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and other parts of Karnataka are also under heavy rainfall alerts.
The Northeast is braced for very wet conditions, with Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya expecting very heavy rainfall. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are also forecast to receive heavy showers. Eastern India will experience active weather, including heavy rainfall over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
