India Braces for Torrential Monsoon Downpours

Monsoon activity will continue with strong intensity across India on August 3, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Northern, central, and northeastern regions are predicted to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

States such as Madhya Pradesh and Kerala are bracing for intense showers accompanied by thunderstorms. Similarly, parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh may witness significant rainfall, potentially leading to rising river levels.

In contrast, Delhi-NCR and Gujarat are expected to have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain. Maharashtra and Rajasthan will also see intermittent showers and potential thunderstorms, with IMD issuing yellow alerts for gusty winds and moderate to heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Rajasthan.

Odisha anticipates cloudy skies with intermittent rainfall, particularly in the afternoon and evening, with chances of thunderstorms in coastal and northern districts. North India, including Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, may experience moderate to heavy showers, with localized flooding possible in hilly terrains.
