Governor Josh Green emphasized the closure of offices and schools to keep people off the roads and allow emergency crews to focus on community protection. He urged residents to stay indoors and heed official emergency instructions. Essential emergency services, TheBus, Skyline, and TheHandi-Van will operate normally if conditions permit, as will residential refuse collection. City officials are asking the public to stay informed via HNL Alert.
City parks and botanical gardens will remain open unless weather conditions worsen, though permitted camping and outdoor park activities will be suspended from 6 p.m. today. A non-emergency city call center will be available for storm information, while 911 should be used for emergencies. State employees in non-essential roles will receive administrative leave, with exceptions for critical operational staff.
