Widespread rainfall of 30-50mm is expected, with some areas potentially seeing 60-80mm. The Met Office has cautioned that this could cause flooding and disruption.
In addition to the heavy rain, the forecast also includes the possibility of below-freezing overnight temperatures in Scotland later this week, which could bring some snow to higher ground.
