Heavy Rains and Flood Warnings Issued Across Wales and Southwest England
12 Nov
Summary
- Rain warnings in place for Wales and southwest England
- 24-hour heavy rain warning issued for Friday across multiple regions
- Potential for flooding and difficult travel conditions due to saturated ground

As of November 12th, 2025, the UK is bracing for a period of unsettled weather, with multiple rain warnings in place across the country. According to the Met Office, low pressure is dominating the weather this week, leading to increased rainfall and the potential for flooding.
In Wales and parts of southwest England, rain warnings are in effect on Wednesday, with 15-25mm of rain expected to fall widely. A further 20-40mm of rain is anticipated in southwest England during the day. The Met Office has warned that the recent heavy rainfall events have led to increased sensitivities, with the ground already saturated. This could result in some flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
Looking ahead to Friday, a 24-hour heavy rain warning has been issued for several regions, including the East Midlands, East of England, London and southeast England, northwest England, southwest England, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and Humber. Widespread rainfall of 30-50mm is expected, with some areas potentially seeing 60-80mm. The Met Office has cautioned that this could cause flooding and disruption.
In addition to the heavy rain, the forecast also includes the possibility of below-freezing overnight temperatures in Scotland later this week, which could bring some snow to higher ground.
