Hai Phong Prepares for Maysak Storm

Hai Phong is intensifying preparations for Storm Maysak, utilizing its coastal radar system on Bach Long Vi special zone to monitor and guide fishing vessels to safety. By July 4th, winds reached Level 7-8, with gusts of Level 9. All 136 vessels and 441 crew members at Bach Long Vi harbour were safely sheltered.

Throughout the city, restrictions are in effect for rivermouths, estuaries, and coastal waters. Since July 3rd, tourist and fishing vessels are prohibited from leaving port, and all sea-based tourism and fishing activities are suspended. Military and public security forces are on high alert, with over 15,000 personnel deployed to ensure public order and property protection.

Authorities confirmed contact with all 1,626 vessels and 4,441 crew members by July 4th, with most in safe anchorage. Floating aquaculture facilities and offshore watch stations are also secured. Hai Phong continues round-the-clock monitoring of Storm Maysak, implementing measures to minimize its impact.
