For January 21 and 22, the national capital is expected to remain predominantly dry with partly cloudy skies and morning fog reducing visibility. Cloud cover is predicted to increase on January 22.
The only day with expected rainfall is January 23, when Delhi may witness light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph. This spell is anticipated to be short-lived.
Following the rain, skies will remain cloudy on January 24, with strong surface winds. From January 25 onwards, the weather is expected to stabilize, with partly cloudy skies and persistent morning fog.
Minimum temperatures are forecast to stay between 6-8°C until January 22, with a slight dip possible after January 23 before a gradual rise. Maximum temperatures are projected to be between 19-26°C throughout the week.
Meanwhile, a broader weather system is affecting North India, bringing rain and snowfall to the Western Himalayas and thunderstorms across several northern states. Dense fog and cold wave conditions are also predicted in isolated pockets.
Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially during foggy conditions, and to stay updated on weather advisories and travel schedules.
