The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for Delhi on Thursday, forecasting moderate showers and strong winds across the capital. North Delhi and North-West Delhi are particularly expected to receive moderate rain with thunderstorms and wind speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph, potentially gusting up to 60 kmph.
Other parts of the capital, including South-East, East, Central, and West Delhi, may experience light rain and thunderstorms with lightning and winds blowing at 30-40 kmph. The alert indicates that these conditions are for a short period and not expected to persist throughout the day.
For Thursday, generally cloudy skies with moderate rain are anticipated. The maximum temperature is forecast to be around 29°C, with a minimum temperature near 20°C. This weather pattern is expected to continue into Friday with further thunderstorm activity, before turning drier on Saturday, October 17, with partly cloudy skies and a rise in temperature to 32°C.
The forecast suggests Thursday's rain will bring a temporary change to Delhi's weather, with potential for continued thunderstorms on Friday. Saturday is expected to be drier with warmer temperatures.
