Delhi-NCR Braces for Unseasonal Rain and Wind

Delhi-NCR is bracing for a notable change in weather conditions as a new western disturbance approaches, bringing rainfall and strong winds. Starting January 23, the national capital is expected to see cloudy skies, with light to moderate rain likely throughout the day, accompanied by gusts of wind at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour. This rain event is predicted to cause a temporary drop in the maximum temperature to around 20 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature rising to approximately 13 degrees Celsius. After this period of rain, colder conditions are anticipated to intensify once more, potentially leading to cold wave conditions due to the impact of rain and snowfall in the northern hill states. Over the past 24 hours, Delhi experienced morning fog, reducing visibility at Safdarjung to 300 metres. The maximum temperature recorded was 24.2 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 7.7 degrees Celsius. Throughout the rest of the week, cloudy skies and winds are expected to persist, with further light rain possible on January 27, after which temperatures are forecast to return to lower ranges, between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius.
