However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates strengthening monsoon activity in the coming days.
Monday was particularly uncomfortable, with the heat index reaching a scorching 49°C due to high humidity levels, despite some areas receiving brief rain. The maximum temperature recorded was 38.1°C, significantly above normal, with humidity ranging between 76% and 100%.
The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad for Tuesday and Wednesday. Residents can expect cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. This predicted spell of increased rainfall is projected to bring daytime temperatures down by 5-6°C, offering much-needed relief and more pleasant weather conditions across the city.
